A remake set in 1990, instead of 1960

I would really like to see a remake of this movie, but its about a guy, instead of a girl who faints at his 2025 high school reunion and wakes up 35 years earlier, during his senior year in the spring of 1990. I think that would be cool to show the leftover 80s world of 1990, during his teen years, similar to how Peggy Sue got to relive her days, during the leftover 50s world of 1960. Also, the 35-year gap from 1990 to 2025 would work because there is a huge enough cultural difference; unlike from 2000 to 2025.

The 1960s and 1990s have one thing in common; the first couple of years still felt like their previous decades. This wasn't the case with the 70s and 80s. The 2000s sorta did this, as well.

Early 80s still felt like the wild and crazy 70s.

Also, I have to disagree with something--I think the world of 2000 and the world of 2025 are VERY different. The latter half of the 1990s was kind of boring and bland. Early 90s were fun, lots of crazy things happening, switch from 12 years of republican rule replaced by Slick Willie (who, it turns out, wasn't all that different from the republicans). Great gangsta' rap in the early 90s. By 1996, it was all over. 96 to 2000, for the most part, were boring and uneventful in the U.S. (with the exception of Columbine). I think that world is way way way different from now. We're back on the verge of a nuclear holocaust. College students clamor for segregation on their campuses. Hell, idiotic Donald Trump was president! Nobody in 1997 would ever believe that's even possible.
