Who evers responsible

For the sound of the guns going off needs to be shot. I wasn't in Vietnam. But I know my way around handguns, rifles and shotguns. And every shot from the M16 rifle in Platoon repeatably sounded the same. A loud thud. Every round shot sounded the same. The Ak47s the *beep* used sounded the same. The explosions the same. And the shotgun Bunny had. It sounded like every stock sound of a shotgun did in the 1980's. Guns have more of an echo when they are fired. Yet in Platoon it was like a thud. Furthermore, although the M16 was the standard firearm for Vietnam for the United States, they all dont sound the same. You have to factor in wind, velocity, all that. Platoon is a good movie, but this is my only gripe. Damn right its authentic. It was beautifully shot. My grandpa a Nam vet even said so. If Stone put a little bit more thought in the actually authenticity of the sound of certain weapons firing through out the movie would have been better. Seems like he got lazy and and just said screw it, use stock sound.

I dont wanna add insult to injury. But damn Kubricks Full Metal Jacket blew Stones Platoon out of the water. As far as accuracy goes. Platoon should be a student film. FMJ is a damn masterpiece.
