saw him briefly but he seemed to disappear from the movie

He got gut shot during the ambush at the bunker complex--the one with the friendly fire incident. Depp was the point man & got 'hosed'.

Last scene with him showed Lerner getting ready to be medevaced out of the bush after sustaining injuries during the firefight. Doesn't really say whether he made it or not.
