furniture, decorations, costumes

This movie really captured totally radical 80's design styles... Sam's house with
the crazy furniture is so awesome. I wish I had those chairs!

They loved their pink lights and lamps in the 80's didn't they.

It was over the top, even for back then.

But I DID have a sweater like that purple-and-white striped number worn by Sam's mistress.

I remember sitting in the theater when Sam walks into his house.....the couple one row up and to the right (left?) stage whispering how much they agreed with Sam's opinion of the furniture. My friend and I looked at each other and she and I both said "I love it" at about the same time.

I am watching the movie right now and came to the this site to see if anyone else said the same about the 80's feel/look to the house and clothes.....the 80;s were fun and although I was in high school it was defintley a decade to remember. I love this movie!

The opening credits and the house and the clothes are great on my 32" screen. I saw this in the theatre when I was 36/37. I only had a vague recollection of the way out sets and Bette's clothes and forgot about the great opening credits.

Ultra '80s - love it!

So right! It should have won tons of awards for costumes (those dresses she designed were a riot!) and the furniture and sets were amazing. Clearly they were poking fun at the inane styles of the time, and it was SO, SO, GOOD!

Yeah, the ultimate 80's look was eye-catching and the most memorable thing about the movie (after the performances, of course).
