Is it just me....

I remember seeing this film in the theater when it came out, and is it just me or was the intro (where they're singing the Three Amigos song) longer with a funny gag where they hold that note so long they have to take a breath during it

"We are the THREEE A-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA *breath* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-MIGOS!"

That was cut from future home releases of the film? Because I thought it was a really funny gag.

Safe to say I think it was just you.

reply

Yes! I remember that. My grandparents and parents just loved that too.

reply

I think it's you.

Straightedge means I'm better than you.

reply

Actually there's no breather, just the long Ah's.

reply

That's obviously not done 'really', it was unnaturally long and steady as well. Try to stay in the same note for that long without breathing and you'll see why it's not really possible, or at least feasible.

It was probably done with looping - you can kind of hear the kind of artifact a loop might make, if you pay attention, but it's relatively smooth.
