why the director hired sam kinison as a mexican bandit?
b/c of his wild trademark or he looked he could pass 4 a spainard?

I think they did it for two reasons. One, Kinison was a hysterically funny comic and he wanted to work with him. Two, the movie was an homage to the old westerns, like The Magnificent Seven and back then many Mexcan roles were played by white actors. Eli Wallach played a Mexican in The Magnificent Seven and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Rod Steiger played a Mexican in Duck You Sucker/A Firstful of Dynamite.
