Am I totally going nuts or is El Guapo at some point called Eggwaffle, just once as a joke? I remember telling someone he was called Eggwaffle on the back of the VHS case a long time ago, but now I checked and he isn't. He isn't called Eggwaffle in the credits either and I'm just trying to figure out where the heck this came from. Is he ever called that in the movie or did I completely make this up?
shareI just watched this movie last night (yes, I watched 3 Amigos on Christmas). I've seen it 100 times before and I instantly knew what you were referring to. I'm not sure how deep into the movie the scene takes place, but it takes place @ El Guapo's fortress. Jefe has given the order to raise the pinatas into the air and then orders everyone "Viva El Guapo" and they all begin shooting into the air. At the same time, the German nods to his 2 henchmen that it's all right to join in on the festivities. The smaller henchman pulls his pistol and yells (phonetically sounding anyway), "Viva Egg Waffle". To me, that's exactly what it sounds like because of the German accent the guy is sporting. I find it funny that it sounds like Egg Waffle, but hey, the audio doesn't lie.

Since Germans pronounce the letter "w" as "v", I believe it's just their German accent pronouncing El Guapo as El "Gvapo". Pretty funny observation though, I had to put it on just to hear that part again!
