I too was expecting the actor to be what I call a "pretty boy." So, yes, I too was a bit shocked at seeing him without makeup. But Ron isn't exactly ugly either. He has a 'rugged' handsomeness. Personality beats out looks any day of the week. And Ron seems to be a very nice human being.

I had a co-worker who told me she married an ugly man so that she wouldn't have to worry about other women trying to take him away from her. She told me that is the only way to go when choosing a mate. (Personally, I doubt that would keep some women away. Some just enjoy knowing they stole someone away from someone else. His looks wouldn't bother them, since they wouldn't intend on keeping him. [Unless he had tons of money.] )
