What if? A Sequel not a 'Reboot'

Here's a hypothetical to get people talking.

If you were in charge of the new Beauty and the Beast series and wanted to make a sequel to the original (ie. set in the same world as the original series, just 30 years later), how would you set things up?

Logically Vincent's son Jacob would be the male lead, but which other characters would you have?

To complicate matters a little, what if you were a Classic fan of the series, but couldn't hire Ron Perlman nor Linda Hamilton to reprise their roles (not even guest appearances), how would you set the story up so that it left open the possibility that Catherine was still alive and that she was reunited with Vincent?

So many great Fanfic writers out there, anyone come up with some good ideas to pitch to this to a TV network?

Personally, I wouldn't want the story to take place years later -I'd rather C&V be together -So I'd prefer if the orig. 2nd season ending (Catherine having a baby then dying) was not included -I'd like actors that would resemble Linda & Ron -Even though he's in make-up, someone very tall & rugged looking & always a 'full-time' beast -I'd like to tweek some of the orig. scripts & create new stories as well -And of course still have the underground world of Below, but maybe change/add/delete some characters -Then for me the perfect happy ending with a wedding! -I know it doesn't sound like many changes, but in my head it's very vivid

I'd go with the writers/producers original ideas and add a little of my own fantasy to it.

The 3rd season would start with the Land of the Dead trilogy. Vincent collapses right before attacking Catherine and dies in her arms.
Catherine and the tunnel community bury Vincent in the catacombs. While the ceremony takes place we see Vincent enter the land of the dead and be confronted with all the people he killed. His ultimate confrontation is the one with paracelsus.

We skip to a month later.

Father visits Catherine who tells him that Elliott Burch proposed to her and she doesn't know what to do. Father asks her if she believes the man really loves her. Catherine says he does, in his own way. Father encourages her to follow her heart, that Vincent would want her to.
During dinner that night Catherine accepts Elliott's proposal and tells him he has to meet some people before they can get married.
Catherine introduces Elliott to Father and the others and they tell him about Vincent. Elliott finally understands why Catherine had so many secrets. He also promises Father and the others that if there's anything they need they come to him or ask Catherine, since they all will be part of his family. Father accepts Elliott as a helper.

On the day of her wedding to Elliott Catherine has heavy headaches. In the meantime, Vincent must defeat Paracelsus in the land of the dead in order to return to Catherine and the love they shared.
Catherine walks down the aisle, but when she's about to say her vows to Elliott, her headaches are getting out of control and she flees out of the church.
Followed by Elliott and some tunnelmembers, Catherine runs all the way through the parc and into the tunnels down to the catacombs.
She begs Mouse and Pascal to help her open Vincents grave. Elliott, Mouse and Pascal think Catherine lost it, but Catherine tells them Vincent didn't die.
When they open Vincent's grave and pull him out of his grave, Catherine starts kissing Vincent to which he opens his eyes.

Father appears and can't believe what he sees. Father and Catherine bring Vincent back to his chamber and things go pretty much the same as they went in the Though Lovers Be Lost episode when he returned to his chamber. He doesn't recognize anything, but he knows who Father and Catherine are.
Vincent asks Catherine why she's wearing a wedding dress so she explains everything that has happened. Elliott asks what will happen now. When Catherine tells him she can't marry him, he simply nodds and leaves.
Father and Vincent worry if Elliott can be trusted now that he lost Catherine to Vincent again, but Catherine tells them they can.

The last episode of the Land of the Dead trilogy ends with a divided screenshot in which we see a worried Father as well as a an angry Elliott, alone in the dark of his office, looking out over the city.

End credits...

If I were to take up where the writers left off for a tv movie: I'd go with one of the many SND (She's Not Dead) fanfic stories - V is having flickers of the bond returning - C is actually being held in a private government hospital in a coma -Maybe even have Diana help find C - :)

I tried to write the "she's not dead" resolution with an X-Files crossover(but Mulder & Scully don't know each other.) It's been many years since I thought about it but basically one of Gabriel's men whisked her away to hiding for many years.

I would have liked to see the story picked up 22 years later with Jacob as the main character. They could have made him a doctor who is hiding the secret of where he grew up and who his father is. Even have him look human but when he gets upset he turns into the beast like in the current show, but have him look more like Vincent when he turns.
