This movie SUCKS!

I remember laughing...back when I was about 13...now, I barely laughed. 'The son of the invisible man' sketch is still funny, but I can't get a chuckle out of anything else...Kentucky Fried Movie is 20x funnier then this movie!!!!

I agree. I was stoked to see this movie as I heard comparisons to KFM but about 40 minutes in, I started checking my watch and wondering if there was laughter in the theaters when this was released. A lot of skits I'm sure seemed very funny on paper but on screen they came across as lame. Apart from seeing some familiar actors, there just isnt much to recommend here. I'd take A Fistful of Yen over Amazon Women on the Moon any day.

Maybe the humor is out of it's element almost 25 years later but I didn't find it funny at all.

No love for Don "No Soul" Simmons? For shame.

I'm going to go against the grain and say this one is the superior film. To me, KFM, aside from a few sketches, just boils down to "how dirty can we get in a mainstream movie?" Amazon Women has a lot more clever touches beyond "Boobs! Casual racism!"

Though "Yen" still rocks.

This. ^^

Amazon Women On The Moon is the funniest skit comedy compilation I've ever seen, we were laughing our asses off this evening watching it. Better than KFM which is a little amateurish. Even the cut scenes were funny, and Unknown Soldier was a bit of brilliant writing. Fantastic comedy! I wish Kids In The Hall had put together a movie like this.

I cannot believe the OP did not find this movie funny. Well ... I guess there is no accounting for taste. Seems to be too many wannabe critics and prudes here on IMDB.

well,

"Orphan:7/10
Strangers: 5/10
Twilight: 3/10
Hostel 2: 7/10
Spit On Your Grave:4/10"

i guess that explains it. xD

Once we only had Don "No Soul" Simmons, but now we also have Jorg "No Humor" Ito.

Our universe is expanding and our dog is finally getting enough cheese.

The humor's more juvenile. I've seen it a few times, enjoyed it for the real parodies, but only smirked at the sex stuff.

reply

Thats weird because I always found the Son of the Invisible Man skit one of the least funny ones.

'When there's no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.'

reply

Haven't seen it in 25 years, but I'd watch it again just for the Corinne Wahl "Video Date" segment.

reply

I completely disagree. Although I like both films, "Amazon Women..." is much better, IMO. It's one of the only films I can watch over and over and still really enjoy it. It never gets old for me. Very much a NON-suck movie.

reply

I've always really like this movie in general. Not all has made me laugh, ever. I still have a good time with it.

I could not get into KFM. Maybe if I don't set my hopes too high and watch it again.
