Yes, I keep my M-16 with grenade launcher behind the fridge

I believe what made the first two Death Wish films successful was that there was some type of realism to Paul Kersey and the situations he was put in. Originally he would just go around popping muggers with a .32, which I could see someone doing in real life.

Part 3 was completely over the top, so I don't even bother commenting about it. It was more of a comedy if anything.

Part 4 was a pretty good rebound to bring some respectability back to the franchise, but there were some silly things in it as well which would cause the average film cirtic to bash this movie, which they usually do. First is the arsenal he has behind the refrigerator. I know the guy in the beginnnig gave him a phone number for any type of weapon he may need, but I kind of have the feeling Kersey had those assault rifles in there ever since he moved back to LA.

I understand they had to make the stakes higher and higher for Kersey as the sequels rolled out, but turning Kersey into Rambo is what probably brings all the negative reviews.

Did you see the fifth one? That was much more believable than 3 and 4, arguably more believable than 2, but not as believable as the original because, as in the other sequels, he uses elaborate killing methods rather than a simple gun.

Personally I love all the Death Wish films, despite how silly they got; heck because of it in many cases. It may be unfashionable these days, but I just love "novelty" deaths and "witty" one-liners. Although obviously the first film is the clear best from an objective point of view.

P.S. On it's release, this surprisingly got the best reviews of all the sequels, perhaps better reviews than even the original got.

Part 5 was okay I guess, but I didn't like how he got all sofisticated with the rat poison and the soccer ball bomb. Plus in Part 5, you can really start to see him age. It would have been cool if they really shot the movie in NYC rather than a small town in Canada made to look like NY.

Did number 4 really get food reviews? That's awesome, I have to go and dig some of them up.

What's a food review? LOL.

It's a shame God didn't make blueprints. They'd be worth alot of money now.

If you can think of a better place to keep your M-16/grenade launcher, I would sure like to know.

Why did he have two fridges? He lives on his own --- WTF is he eating that he needs two fridges?

Dead bears that he killed while using the M-16.

Its a simple gun safe bulit into the wall behind the fridge for maximum conceal-ability. It's really not that unbelievable. I have seen much more elaborate things like this in real life.

i was disappointed as the movie begins to see this 4th movie also being a cannon release as the 3rd was, which obviously was miles away in quality from the first, and even the second i think. a bit different camera work here, and as usual, his family members gets killed one after another... but the role have really taken a different turn now, the first movie was about a broken individual taking matters into his own hands, but by this movie he has turned into a full blown blasting action macho man. but its still an improvement from the 3rd movie, with some unexpected turns. notice "audrey griswold" from "national lampoons vacation" and "national lampoons christmas vacation 2: cousin eddies island adventure".

stay all day,
i confess i need you here,

its like most of the once vulnerable anti hero's that we have come to seen over the years.. they evolve in each sequal of their franchise.

think die hard. as much as you can dislike the progression of the character's portrayed it can be justified that these guys are evolving from their past experiences. anyone can look at them turning all "rambo like" and say its purely unrealistic.

don't get me wrong all these series have their little over the top references. its bound to happen, its entertainment after all.

getting back to kersey, after his own personal experiences I think having at least an M16 with grenade launcher should be in order lmao.
