The first 5 mins was not necessary
Yes I know about the whole 'rights' thing. but there was no need to redo the first 5 mins it confuses people thinking it was a remake and not part 2. the movie pretended that the other 3 characters never existed and that only Ash and Linda went to the Cabin
It should have just started how part 1 ended . it makes it feel that most of 1 never happened otherwise and makes people think it is a remake.
