What does Grandfather say to Cathy?

When he woke up, I remember it sounded like he said, "I always liked you the best". I could not figure out if this meant he molested "mother", or that he knew about the grandchildren. Either way, it was shocking, but I did not quite understand it.

I thought that he said "Corrinne" thinking that Cathy was Corrinne. But I could be wrong.

Later, Chris does say the man didn't know who they were.

I haven’t read the book in many years but I’m positive it’s explained in the book. The father thinks he is looking at her daughter, Cathy’s mom Corrine. So he calls Cathy by her mom’s name.
