The voice dub for Frank

What was up with that? its so painfully obvious thats not the actors voice coming out of his mouth, it sounds almost like one of those old Godzilla movies whenever he speaks. Why did they feel the need to dub his voice with another actor?

Its one of the only issues i have with the movie is the bad dub for Frank's voice.

It was done because they assumed American audiences would have a problem with Frank's British accent (most of the British actor's voices were dubbed except for a few) and they wanted the film to be more accessible to US markets and feel more Americanized when it's clearly set in England lol. They did the same thing with the original Mad Max.

So dumb, especially since in Hellraiser 2 the same actor comes back to play Frank and they use his actual voice and he sounds perfectly fine doing an American accent, which no idea why they couldn't have just had him do in the first movie.

Watching the special features on the new 4K set the actor who played Frank said he had no idea they was gonna dub his voice and said he was surprised when he first watched the movie. And he talked about the scenes losing alot of little nuances in his voice when he was acting by dubbing over it with someone who was just reading the lines with no kind of acting at all.
