The other side of the mirror

It's chilled me more than anything from any other movie. The girl getting stuck on the other side is the stuff of nightmares.

Clever editing shows us the dilemma she faces beforehand and afterwards Father Loomis acknowledges her sacrifice.🐭

I rewatched it and noticed the look on her face when she saw Kelly for the first time since her demonic possession. She began to gag and seemed like she was about to throw up. The obvious implication is that the mere sight/shock of her mutated friend disgusted her. She had no time to regain her composure because Kelly was just about to bring forth the anti god into our world. So in one split second she needed to decided wether or not she should push her friend to the other side but knowing that this would obviously mean sacrificing herself in the process (which is why she's conflicted). Thus becoming a martyr. I think this is why we see her in a crucifix like pose near the end. She sacrificed herself for all of us. Brilliant acting from her part. It's unfortunate that she's no longer with us. I'll never be able to tell her how her scenes from this movie made me feel.

Shit! Gave me the chills too. Saw this when I was a kid but had forgotten most of it's details (even it's name). But I'll never forget the end scene of that girl trapped in the other dimension. That grainy footage gradually panning towards the main entrance of that particular church with her coming out of the shadows in a trance like state. Looking directly at the camera, with some distorted audio playing in the background. That scene always stuck with me for many years. Many's the time I would lay in bed and replay that scene in my head. Wondering about her fate. Was she under the control an unseen force otherwise known as the "anti god"? What was going to happen to her when the camera turned off? Was she destined to remain in this place forever? Possibly as the anti god's puppet. These unsettling thoughts chilled me to the bone. More than anything else in that movie.
