Best line

I love Dreyfuss' little speel in the Captain's office when the FBI guy basically hands them this lousy assignment and says the it is the FBI collar.

Leece: Whoa..whoa let me clear this up because something sounds a bit rip here. You want us to sit on this half-ass, hand me down *beep* detail on the off chance that we are going to come across some bad people, and you want us to what? Sit on our ass, make a phone call so you can nail the collar and get the keys to the city. I'm sorry Captian but this is *beep* I'm a cop, you understand me, I'm not some security guard. If I happen to come across some bad people, I'm going to be a little too bust to make a phone call.

I love that bit, put the a--hole agent where he belongs.

OhmyGod, whenever I see that scene with the crazed cat in the car, I laugh until I've got tears rolling down my face!

This is one of my favorite Estevez movies, even over Young Guns but my favorite lines comes from Richard Dreyfuss. While spying on Madeline Stowe while talking to her on the phone, her stove goes up in flames. He just KNOWS she's going to ask how he knew her food was on fire and the best line he can come up with is "I could...uhhh..I could hear the sizzling behind you." The look on his face after making that up is priceless.

Philip: Shut your foul mouth, you ten-titted bitch from Hades!

How about, when Bill and Chris are talking about where Chris's wife could be.

Bill: "She's probably in bed with some other guy"

**They both look at each other, and say at the same time**

"Poor Bastard!!"

LOL, that was a good one.

reply

"Sooo...Did you practice safe sex?"

Great expression on Dreyfuss' face!

"They're not gonna catch us. We're on a mission from God." -Elwood Blues

Not Chris's wife, but Chris's girlfriend. If she had been his wife, him ending up with Maria in the end would have introduced a whole new set of problems!

Your rite!! My mistake!!

my fav line from Chris when he hears Maria weighs 300 pounds

"OMG, she could be the house"

My favorite was when they were playing the movie quote game, and Emilio did an impression of Dreyfuss in Jaws: "This was no boating accident!" And then Richard said something like, "I have no clue."

Jaws is one of my favorite movies, so the first time I saw this scene in Stakeout I laughed so hard I missed the next several lines of dialogue.

How about when they talk about the stripper they sent to the captain & then they go "I told you we should have sent the female stripper", LOLOLOLOL!!!

This came from a behind the scenes situation. Emilio Esteves and Dreyfuss were actually playing this game to kill the time between scenes and Emilio actually stumped Richard Dreyfuss with this line. The whole cast laughed about it and the director decided to put it in the film.

I also liked this part:
Bill: Get out of the house, she's right there man.
Chris: (pause) Are you *beep* with me?
Bill: NO, I'M NOT *beep* WITH YOU, GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!!
The speed at which Estevez said that was a riot.

reply

CHRIS: "I can't talk now"...."I'll have to call ya back"

Funny scene:
Chris leaving the house the morning after in a pink hat and shaw. Him walking up and down the steps is funny. Then later, you get to see it on video again at the police station.
