doesn't look dated at all...

I recently saw a 35mm screening of this movie at a local theater, and I have to say, other than the cars and clothing, this movie looks like it could have been made in the last couple years, when I expected 80s grindhouse graininess. anyone else notice this?

Yeah, this movie - with its vibrant colours and sharp cinematography - still looks beautiful (if you can call a movie about melting rapist street scum beautiful).

Well it's the late 80's. Seen Paperhouse? Hellraiser? They haven't really dated to me - I mean of course they have like, cars, clothes, hair etc but a lot of late, even mid, 80's films are still easy modern viewing.

I agree, the visual effects stand better than many movies of that era too..

'Street Trash' has been one of my favorite films since i first rented the tape 20 odd years ago.It really hasn't dated much at all.Apart from the stellar camera work i think one of reasons is that it kind of exists in it's own world like the best fantasy films do...
