The lousiest 8.0+ on IMDb
What movie were you all watching? This was a joke! I very nearly turned it off during the bridge shootout, but I was distracted by a full-body cringe.

Everybody on here talking smack on this movie are fuc&ing morons.
sharereally when was the last time you saw this movie. I understand if it has some sort of sentimental value to you, i'm sure it was really good in 1987, but it does not hold up in time compared to other movies. Its total cheeseball.
shareCheeseball is the perfect word to describe this atrocious film. Almost every scene was just awful trite. If told, I would easily believe this written by an amateur.
shareWow, our first disagreement! I loved it. Thought it was masterfully done. One of my favorite movies of the 80's.
And I'm aware that De Palma can be a very uneven director, but I thought he hit a home run with this one.

First, I must say I am somewhat flattered to have you as my follower. Welcome.
It's a shame because I really wanted to like The Untouchables. De Palma directed one of my all time favourite gangster films and Mamet is, well, David frickin Mamet. There were also several inspiring moments that I loved, but unfortunately they were overshadowed by a feeling of overwhelming irritation throughout.
I agree it was quite bad and incredibly below-par for something that has all the great names attached to it that it does. However you wouldn't say it was the worst 8+ movie if you'd seen Solaris (1972).
shareThe film is hugely overrated.. Sean Connery's death scene was so long and dragged out and poorly acted.
