why do people think YUPPIES was an 80s thing?

it still continued right up to the credit crunch. not much of that life style died out , art being sold for millions, pretentious over expensive restaurants , stock brokers who were over confident and wanting to make a fortune in 2 years. the reason why the economy collapsed is because in part of YUPPIES, as well as credit companies

The '80s gave rise to the Yuppie, and I think that's why we always associate them with the decade. There's also the argument that the decade's excess and greed never ended.

Yuppies will always be tied to the '80s.
