Everyone, not least the cast and Doug Naylor, go on about Lemons and I disliked the episode. I could predict the punchline that he was really Jesus anyway a mile off- it's just in my psyche from Monty Python's Life of Brian. I always preferred Holy Grail. I've just never found religious figures funny in comedy.
Twentica might not have had loads of knock out jokes but it was stylistically great, reminiscent of Back to Reality meets Gunmen of the Apocalypse - and you need a strong stylish episode as your opener.
I'm actually coming to appreciate series 8 more and more.
Series 11 is pretty much what I asked for though - a return of 'monster/villain of the week' but it feels like it's going through the motions, that the crew are becoming characters. Hopefully, series 12, with the reintroduction of Hattie Hayridge as Holly, will see less of a formula and only 1 or 2 villains at most now that we've got that out of our system.
