You would have to be a devoted fan to appreciate that performance. Can't blame him entirely - not for all that damn awful dialogue he had to spew out by the bucketful.

I see linguistics isn't your strength. Never did I hear such a puerile epithet since I dropped a critical post on the American History X board. I think you'll find a greater appreciation to the dialogue in this films adaptation: Cruel Intentions.

I'm still lost on all your officious posts belittling Brokeback Mountain (Only a devoted fan could put only so much energy in discussion I thought. Then I had the misfortune of reading your words.) one by one the posts plagued the boards full of scorn and tumid rhetoric. It was as if you emptied a verbal septic tank into the threads. Most critics (As you would say "Spew") out a review to ridicule poor films. I'm doing the same. Your 15 minutes are up and you had your review, now go away. There is much to do in life. FWIW it was the Glenn Close character who said that line. It's a very good line although I consider it a stretch to apply its meaning to OP as has been attempted here.
Anyway I like John Malkovich a lot. More than anything, I just love to see him interviewed on talk shows - he is one entertainingly bizarre dude - but I like his acting too.
This was far from my favorite of his roles but I appreciated the performance.
