Why did Jason just randomly leave the tent spike next to the door on the porch? I'm just imagining him walking up to it and just sticking it into the wood then just turning around and leaving. Sounds awkward.

I was racking my brain throughout the movie trying to figure out what the hell it was and my best guess was some kind of bayonet.
But yeah, it was a bit weird to find it there...
For some reason I thought the doctor put that there to mess with the girl. But that'd be a huge coincidence with it being the same kind of weapon Jason used earlier. Doesn't make a lot of sense no matter which way you look at it.
