This was one of my Favorite Friday the 13th's as a kid

*Spoilers*

I know most Friday the 13th fans hate this flick, but I enjoyed it as a kid. I wouldn't categorize myself as the biggest fan of the Friday the 13th series. I like that the one character had telekinetic powers. However I could see how that pisses off Jason fans since the Female Character happened to be stronger than Jason when she learned how to use her abilities even more so. I'm more of a Freddy fan. I think Freddy's story is more interesting and I always found it scarier for someone to get you in your Nightmares.

As a kid, my favorite was probably part 3 but I've leaned more towards this as I got older.

It has a much more sombre atmosphere than the previous sequels, the non-reliance on Manfredini's score is a plus (after six films, I was getting rather sick of it), the Tommy Jarvis trilogy was over with (and had run its course), we had a scarier Jason who Kane Hodder played brilliantly, the acting was good all around for the seventh entry in a franchise, the final girl was unique, and it had great pacing. What's not to like?

Where do you get the impression that most Friday the 13th fans hate this movie? Actually most seem to love it, myself included.

This is my favorite along with part 2 and 6

I love this one, despite its numerous problems. This was the very first F13 film I saw, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. :-)

This movie BLEEPING rules

Jason started off a poor mans Michael Myers and the early movies are just your run of the mill slashers for the most part.

6-8 get it right with New blood being the best because it fully embraces Jason's cartoonish nature in him being a beast with creative and over the top kills. Hot chicks and all the awesome 80's cheesiness with it. For example, Jason punching that black boxer in part 8 and his head went flying off. Come on, How can that not entertain people
