Atmosphere + Flavor

There are a handful of films that live up to the hype created by advertisements/trailers:

1. Tim Burton's "Batman Returns" (1992)
2. Mark Romanek's "One Hour Photo" (2002)
3. F. Gary Gray's "Friday" (1995)
4. Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" (1994)
5. David Lean's "Doctor Zhivago" (1965)
6. Francis Ford Coppola's "Dracula" (1992)
7. Richard Lester's "Superman III" (1983)
8. Woody Allen's "Manhattan" (1979)
9. John Carpenter's "Halloween" (1978)
10. Giuseppe Tornatore's "Cinema Paradiso" (1988)
11. Henry Selick's "James and the Giant Peach" (1996)

What sets these films apart is their attention to atmosphere and emotion. You need such focus to create a film that will draw audiences in to the life-compact experience they are seeking in a movie.

This movie is sublime and clean.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
