Dialect ?

Hi,
This question is directed to those speaking italian here. I am starting to learn the language, and I'd like to improve it by watching italian movies. However, I don't want to watch something where people only speak in dialects. Is that the case for this movie here? If so, could you recommend other movies that would be easier to understand?
Thanks a lot!

Yes there is a lot of (Sicilian) dialect spoken here, it's mainly between Toto and Alfredo and the people from the town. There is also a lot of 'proper' Italian spoken too, that's mainly between Toto and Elena and mainly in the second part of the movie if you watch the 'Director's Cut'

Ok thanks, I'll probably watch it when I'm more advanced then !
Do you know another film that would be easier to understand?

Try Le conseguenze dell'amore by Paolo Sorrentino it's a great masterpiece too.

One that comes to mind 'Caterina In The Big City' (2003)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366287/
It's a simple story of a teenager that moves to the city with her family and what she encounters there and the people she meets. The plot is easy to follow and the dialogue is also kept 'easy to understand' so it may suit your needs.
