it is fun not meant to be a serious movie

Looking at the other comments about RED HEAT, I am surprised how negative they are.
It is a fun film,a comedy thriller,it is not a serious movie about the Russian mafia.
I like this film,Arnie's character is a little wooden, but it makes a few points about American and Soviet/Russian societies.
Some of the people being critical of this film say that it would have been the KGB not the Militia who would investigate such criminals, rubbish, these people were criminals and the KGB is an internal security, foreign spy force, not a law and order force.
I wish someone would make films of the Martin Cruz Smith Renko novels,he is a Soviet, later Russian detective,GORKY PARK was filmed but no others.
