Confession to Lorna
"Now, I have no right in tellin' this to you... It's dangerous for you and it's dangerous for them... I'm sorry, I just couldn't stop myself... You can do what you want to, you can tell your dad anything, I don't care... I just needed you to know... I don't know what I'm doing... And I love you... I love you..."
I believe this scene is one of the most overwhelming in the history of cinema. River's confession, conveying such a true, strong, deeply moving emotion, just took my breath away and still does, every single time I watch it. It's wreching and always finds my tears. It's like seeing a true confession, it never happened to me to feel that strongly involved in a scene... It's like- how somebody well said before- you could see right in the soul of this sensitive, amazing boy... It's like Danny confessed to all of us... Never have I seen an actor like River, conveying so much sensibility and such a profound, believable emotion through his character, beyond the screen, striking the deepest corner of our heart. Indeed has he given a little part of his beautiful soul to all of his characters. Splendid!!
In my book River has surely won the Academy Award for what he has offered us, God bless his soul!
Anybody else deeply moved by this particular scene:)?
