Problem I had with Lew...

They used Lew as the 'Marley' character initially, but in the past scenes he seemed more like the Fezziwig chracter - hard worker, but hard player too! He seemed to like Christmas and partying...

OK, but he was clearly a ruthless bastard and adulterer.

Yeah, they combined the characters. Lew was more Marley than Fezziwig in my opinion. Fezziwig was a hard worker true, but he was also very generous, especially at Christmas time.

I thought it was just to add some variation to the classic Christmas Carol story. I don't think they were trying to match every character exactly...just generally.
