why does Johnny Five's voice sound different in Short Circuit 2?

In Short Circuit 1 Johnny Five's sounds more robotic but in Short Circuit 2 he voice sounds more human how come it's like went from a man back to a boy like a reverse puberty.

In Short Circuit, the first movie, Tim Blaney's voice was passed through a voice changer. However, in the sequel, his voice seems completely unaltered.

Why? My guess is the intended tone of each film. In the original, the theme was primarily techno-sci-fi, a personified robot that (logically) maintains a synthesized voice with simplistic dialog as well as obedient and systematic behavior. For the followup, Number "Johnny" Five was portrayed as a misunderstood person, err, being rather than a rogue, malfunctioning machine, thus they ditched the "robotic" voice -- also allowing the character to be more relatable.

The filmmakers have mentioned that the main reason for the voice change was to show how the character of Johnny 5 had changed. In the first one, he was like a newborn child finding his way around the world while in the second one, he was more like a pre-teen a little smarter while still trying to understand the world around him.
