Why did Angela needed to look like Maria?

Why did she copy everything from the clothing to the hair? Nobody at the camp would have known what Maria look like except she's was a teenage in the city. Angela could have wore other disguises and no one would have been the wiser.

Then wouldn't her mother notice that's Angela is not her daughter if that does happen?

Maybe there were pictures included in her application packet or whatever information the camp had or needed on her? wouldn't pass close inspection but at a glance they look the same.

Angela liked her style.

I guess for safe measure. I guess she didn't have to look like Maria, but it was better than nothing. She was going back to a scene of a crime, so she didn't want to get caught.

I thought it was a little odd how everyone kept remarking on how old Angela looked. Pamela Springsteen was 27, but could easily pass for 17 with some make up and the right clothes (especially an inner-city 17...), without having to blame drugs etc. She was very thin, which made her look younger. It's not like she was 35... the (unintended) joke is that Hollywood and tv are notorious for casting actors well into their 20s as teenagers anyway....

I thought it was odd too that her looking older than the kids was mentioned a few times. Pamela at the time could still pass someone in her late teens.

Well she had to imitate one of the girls to get into the camp. All of the kids there were pre-registered, if she just showed up as an extra kid, it would raise suspicions about her. So she had to kill and imitate one of the campers. Maria was the one that she could look like the best I guess....

At one point (right before they go camping in the woods), she is asked to show ID. That's why.
