How M. Night Shyamalan’s New Movie Has Already Been Ruined By Kids in the Hall

No, what's making it impossible for this premise to grab me on a visceral level is a sketch from a 1994 episode of the classic sketch comedy show Kids in the Hall. The sketch in question is called "Rockey" and it stars David Foley and Kevin McDonald each doing what they do best: A barmy but poised lady and a flustered husband, respectively.

The basic premise of the sketch is that every time McDonald's husband character steps out of the living room then steps back in, it's as if years of his wife's life have passed until she's reached another milestone in life, including her son growing up and shipping off to the navy.

Obviously the tone is very different, but after rewatching this sketch recently, I couldn't help but think to myself "the kettle's not even boiled yet" the next time Old's trailer autoplayed for me.
