Larry McMurtry's brother James is listed as playing Jimmy Rainey. I remember a character by that name, but don't remember where he appeared in the movie. Could someone please enlighten me?
By the way, James is an accomplished musician/songwriter.
When Newt and two other cowboys are going to the whore house and the girls open the door, one cowboy says I ain't going in there and walks back down the stairs. That is Jimmy Rainey.
James McMurtry is Larry's SON. (not brother)
He is also one of the single best songwriters currently working today. It is not an exaggeration. I always highly recommend his music to anyone willing to give it a try. Stephen King (the author) has said the same thing.
