Basil Poledouris' music is still my favorite wild-frontier soundtrack

This movie has it all. It's swimming with AAA actors and some of the most stirring music I've ever heard from any film.

I came to this board to post the same thing. Basil Poledouris' score is amazing. Night Mares, Captain Call's Journey, and especially Farewell Ladies are some of my all-time favorite pieces of music. Poledouris was probably the most underrated composer of his generation. I also loved his score for Robocop, Starship Troopers, Quigley Down Under, and The Twilight Zone episode A Message from Charity.

For another fantastic frontier score, you should check out Max Richter's score for Hostiles. The piece Never Goodbye is the most soul-piercing music I've heard in years.

Max Richter is the only reason I kept watching “The Leftovers”. He carried that whole TV show. I’ve not seen Hostiles. I’ll check it out.

It's a great movie as well. Hope you like it.

It's a great Western movie, terrific cast and action scenes!

Everything came together here, the music, the setting, the actors.

Oh wow, I didn't know he did this. I haven't watched this since I was a kid but always remembered the soundtrack.
