I remember her sounding differently whenever I'd watch the Burbs on TV or VHS in the 90s. The voice sounded deeper and more strange. But in more recent viewings on Netflix, it basically sounds like Carrie Fisher's normal voice but with sort of an echo to it. I'm assuming it has something to do with going from watching the movie on a monaural TV to stereo, or maybe the sound has been remastered since it was released on DVD or Blu Ray.
