Does anyone know what style of karate Eric is using in the movie?

It certainly doesn't resemble Karate.
I saw a little bit of Chinese Boxing and Kung Fu in some of his stances, so my guess is that someone thought up a style, that would go with the character the Roberts was playing, by mixing other styles together.
Sort of what Bruce Lee did a long time ago.
What I don't understand about this movie is why the Americans call themselves a "Karate Team" when they were going up against a Korean Taekwando team at a Taekwando tournament in Korea?
The match between Phillip and Simon was very impressive though.
It doesnt resemble any form of martial ares becasue Eric Roberts is not a martial artis. The only person on the American team who had any prior martial arts training was Phillip Rhae. The moves Eric Roberts performed were akward and uncomfortable to him becase they did not come naturally to him, nor has he spent years upon years training.

I disagree. The moves he was doing might have been unrealistic (in a real fight) and showy, but he looked pretty damn natural doing them.

Definitely not Muay Thai... nor any style I can recognize... maybe the closest is the fighting style of the "One Armed Swordsman"? Minus the sword of course.
