Just watched this movie for the first time
I'm a lifelong martial arts fan but I always avoided this flick, figuring it would be more of a motivational sports drama than a kung fu movie. But after I learned Phillip Ree was up for the part of Bruce Lee in "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" and a friend persuaded me that this flick was the real deal, I decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did.
This is just a good, crowd-pleasing 80's kind of flick. From Eric Robert's unique acting talents ("Pop it, Tommy! Pop it!"), to Phillip Ree's kick-ass tae kwon do moves, to all the Detroit jokes (I'm from there), and one of the best bar brawls of all time...
The Best of the Best is legit.
