Hey, I'm trying to remember an old film I watched many years ago.

A young guy joins a martial arts team, but they're bad news. Eventually, he is murdered by their leader with this "death blow". (i.e.) he makes his hand into a claw-like grip and strikes the guy on the side of his neck. Later, the dead guys younger brother asks an old master to train him so that he can fight and gain redemption. In the end, the younger brother and the guy who killed his older brother meet at a martial arts tournament. The younger brother eventually wins, and has the chance to kill the bad guy with the same death blow that killed his brother.. but he does not.

Is this Best of the Best, or am I completely off the mark?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm thinking it's probably Kickboxer, although his older brother isn't killed but just seriously injured (paralyzed).

It sounds like "A Dangerous Place", this horrible MA flick from the '90s. I happened to see it on HBO once, and the plot sounds kinda like what you are describing.

No its deff A DANGEROUS PLACE starring TED JAN ROBERTS and its a brilliant film

it is also credited as NO SURRENDER in some places

This movie that you are referring to is called "King of the Kickboxers", starring Billy Blanks!
