I liked this movie, but..........

I first saw this movie when I was about 14, 15 yrs old. I liked it back then, a lot. At the time, I had been involved with the martial arts for about 8 years, so I was excited to see the film. I'm still involved now with the martial arts, and I've seen this movie more times than I can remember and still enjoy it. That being said, it's not a very good movie, per se. In my opinion, the acting is pretty bad, with the exception of James Earl Jones, and he didn't have too much to work with as far as the script goes. The fighting scenes are sometimes silly, you can tell that just about everyone on the team, with the exception of Rhee, didn't/doesn't have a whole lot of training, and if they did, they weren't trained too well. I watched this with some friends a while back, a couple of them saw it years ago and loved it, and a couple had never seen it. The ones, like me, who had seen it in the past enjoyed the viewing. The others thought that it was terrible.

Despite the lackluster opinion, I still like this movie, probably because it's hard to dislike something now that you loved when you were younger. I still think that it has one of the best endings I've ever seen, but now that I'm older and wiser, it's obvious, to me at least, that the acting and karate prowess were seriously hurting in this flick.

Again, just my opinion. Wanted to share it.........
