Honest-to-God. This is a true gem and the music is such a significant aspect of it and you know they're gonna stick their 50 cent/Rhianna/Pop/Hip Hop crap into it, with MTV style editing included. This was a very different teen movie, it has a sense of art and uniqueness to it. That would all be ruined in a remake. I would lose all respect for Hollywood, not there's that much left anyway.
shareThere's no way they could remake this movie and do it justice. You're right about the soundtrack being crap! The music helps make the movie what it is. At least for me. Hollywood needs to let go of this "remake" trend they've been on. It's bad enough that I have to witness the "remake" of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

No news, just an observation due to the lack of any kind of creativity in Hollywood these days. At least that's what I think.
As far as remaking it after there's been a sequel. They did with Halloween, Psycho and several other movies.
