I'm a huge fan of the Friday the 13th franchise. Not the biggest fan by any means but iIown and have seen every film many many times and I have to say this is my favourite.

I consider it one of the weakest. I find it to be far more incompetently made and far less inspired than the others, not to mention the awful heroine (and most the interesting characters die early on, sans Julius)

shareI liked it as much as part 6 (and that was my favorite). Nice music, great locations, some fine death scenes an an impressive Jason image. However I really wish they spent more time on Manhattan, or else you can rename this film to "Jason Takes a Boat". Also Jason's new teleportation abilities seemed to appear out of nowhere.
shareYeah im with you on that list...I actually liked part 8 even though most fans thought it was the weakest one..I liked the fact that they took Jason out the woods and put him in a different environment and part 6 was my second favorite but I also liked part 3 as well.

Skemask - we have the same taste. I love those sequels also. Part VIII is a gem. The movie goes by really quick which is a good sign of having fun watching it. It has the benefit of changing environment completely in the middle of the film which helps keeping interest up, as horrors can be a bit repetitive. Jason looks so big in this movie and I love the rotten look. Jason has gone from a living person to supernatural being. Very cool movie indeed. I love the screenplay and camera work in it.

That being said, I think Parts 1-8 are the golden era of Friday The 13th.
