Jason doesn't kill the gang

lol that was pretty funny, he kicks the radio. the gang got angry, I thought he would kill them off, but he was like: "not again -.-, I dont have time for this" so he just show his face :P like jason would ever do that to scare people.

Also what I find the best scene of all the movies when he looks at that hockey mask on the poster, he was like: "WTF"

No I mean when he looks at the hockey poster when he gets on land in the movie

reply

Yes, that poster scene was quite funny. I think it's the only scene I actually enjoyed throughout the whole movie lol

H1 sucked ass.. 3 stars at best. why couldnt rob remake some other movie like friday the 13th or nightmare on elm street? it would have been way better. rob is just too much rock roll n metal for a halloween movie.

reply

What does that have to do with F13? Who wants to hear your opinion on the Halloween remake on a F13 board?

I thought that the scene in which Jason kicks the ghetto blaster, then turns, and just lifts up his mask and stares at the gang bangers, then they just say, "Hey man, it's cool..." and then take off running, was absolutely HILARIOUS!! One of the BEST scenes EVER in all the Friday the 13th movies.

It was almost like the the original version of, "You call that a knife?...*pulls out his gargantuan knife...Now THAT's a knife!!" line that Crocodile Dundee used in that movie. Basically Jason was "saying", "You guys think YOU'RE scary?... *lifts mask ...I'M SCARY!!" and didn't have to say a word (naturally), or do anything else. Then he continues on his merry way.

That scene cracks me up everytime. Simply PRICELESS!!

haha classic scene i agree

Well, if you notice, Jason takes his mask off and sniffs the the air, he smells that they are virgins and have no plans of premarital sex, so they get to live.

Two of the members are a skinhead and a punk and they are listening to hip hop.....

I was quite surprised to see that gangs were so well integrated in the '80s.

Is this the only instance in the series where Jason encounters human beings that he does NOT kill? I had it in my head for years that there was some (albeit twisted) "moral" code where Jason only murdered individuals who trespassed on Camp Crystal Lake, but in re-watching all the movies from the series I have found that is not the case at all. In the 3rd movie he kills a nurse in a hospital that was just there. She was not in his way or anything. So that makes me even more curious about the scene with the gang members. Was it written strictly for the humorous aspect of it? I have always gotten a kick out of the scene, but it does completely shatter the whole "murder everything you see" mythos of Jason.

reply

Jason became more and more puzzling the longer this franchise went on. At first he killed out of revenge for the teens who let him drown at Camp Crystal Lake, but then he just started killing randomly for the sake of the plot – generally people whose characters were integral to the plot of the given sequel. In this case, the gang wasn't.

I can't name any other instances off the bat of people he encountered whom he didn't kill, but these films don't hold up well when logic is applied.

reply

Yeah, it does seem a bit odd that these punks who draw weapons on him he doesn't take, oh 15 seconds to completely remove them from the world.

reply

In part 5 at the end, the sheriff at the hospital takes out a close up pic of Jason from the killers wallet. So someone had to take that pic of Jason in hockey mask and lived to share it

reply

Interesting theory, Mike, but I don't think he smelled the air. I think he just removed his mask to discourage them from interfering with him. I always thought he didn't kill them because they had not been to Crystal Lake, and were not helping those people who'd come from there.

reply

Oy vey

Another theory I have is that jason knew that he was out numbered there. Unlike the woods back at cystal lake he cant just simply kill them and go unnoticed. He was in the middle of TIMES SQUARE no way the cops would let him just walk away. Jason can be destroyed even if its just temporary tho

reply

I doubt he would fear anyone. It was just for comedy reasons, and Jason was determined to go after who he set his sights on whats her name because she got away as a kid when whats his name threw her in the water.

lol i love that scene

If Jason is smart enough to know how to take out the radio communication tower on the boat then I figure he's smart enough to avoid a public slaughter with so many eyes on him. But Jason logic is not exactly consistent. I guess they could have had the gang in an alley. It would have been cool to see him kill them all in one shot like the triple decapitation in part VI.

reply

they said he was dead meat and he showed them that he was dead meat.

reply

how is Jason dead meat?

reply

isn't he a walking corpse?

reply

i think it depends on which movie in the franchise, i guess by this one he was one of the living dead

reply

That gang didn't look as tough as that biker gang in part 3. I thought that biker gang was going to kill Jason once and for all at the end of part 3 to complete the trilogy

reply

They looked like a tough gang. Reminded me of that biker gang in part 3
