Happy 86th Roddy...

Happy 86th birthday Roddy MacDowall! (although the great man himself passed away in 1998).

Loved him since I was a kid - probably initially because there was always something camp as knickers about him, but moreso for the many wonderful and legendary performances he gave to us.

In particular of course his contribution to two franchises which I utterly adore... the original "Planet Of The Apes" series (there are moments with him under full-prostethics as Ceasar in the fourth film "Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes" which are simply Oscar-worthy)... and of course "Fright Night" and its lesser sequel in which he was simply astounding as ultimate horror-host Peter Vincent. I only learned today that this character's name was a homage to Peter Cushing and Vincent Price.

In my eyes Roddy deserves his place way up there with these great actors.
