So what happened to Peter Vincent?

At the end of Fright Night 1 we find out that Peter Vincent got his show back and everything worked out okay for him. In the sequel the evil bitch vampire steals his TV slot and he ends up unemployed. He survives to the end of the movie, having killed the vampire, but this time we don't find out what happened to him - did he get his show back or did he end up on social security?

I enjoyed this movie, but I didn't like how there was no closure to Peter Vincent. That was the first point my friend Jean had brought up after I lent it to her. I'd assume with Regine out of the picture, the tv station goes crawling back to him?

I agree there should have been closure for Peter Vincent. That is the only thing I didn't like about the film.

In a way very like the Hammer vampire films though the hero stakes/disposes off the vampire and the film ends there.

The box, you opened it we came.

I'm guessing since they told Peter that his show was stale and passe', they did not want him back and so he probably had to find another job possibly at another TV station.

I'd imagine that he retired. Then again, what would you think if you were the show producer? He tried to murder Regine, she goes missing, he's managed to escape the mental hospital with the help of a college student (because honestly, when that old woman wakes up...she's bound to call the police.) That, and what about the 'disappearance' of the real doctor that Alex was posing as? She had his ID's and everything on her person...hm...I'm thinking there would be an investigation, and possible arrests. Conviction? Who knows...

Very good point.

Thanks for this post because I knew I wasn't the only one that noticed this glaring omission. This movie was a great follow up to a brilliant movie but I, like everyone else, needs closure. What happened to Peter? Doesn't his character deserve to have a logical wrap up? Maybe he shows up in a comic or something later on down the line.

It's really annoying that they didn't at least show him in the last scene. They could've done so much with his ending. Re-hired at the station...became a professor Vampirology at Charlie's college...opened his own Vampire Slaying Detective Agency...ANYTHING! I just came up with those off the top of my head in like five seconds! It wouldn't have been that hard to give such a brilliant character proper closure. I mean he saved Charlie’s life! Ugh!

Anyway, a great movie overall but that last bit really irked me.

I love the idea of Peter Vincent running a vampire slaying detective agency, let's go with that. And he hires Charley and Alex as freelance vampire hunters. And, their first case is...THE RETURN OF EVIL ED! Quick! to the fan fiction websites!

That is what I was wondering about as well. What they should have done was make a third Fright Night and we all know that would have went directly to video because I do not think that they would have tried to have that go out to the movie theaters like the first two films.

See now is the time to do a third film where Charlie is married and has a couple of kids. One could be in high school and the other in college. Possibly bring back Charlies best friend in the first film but as a older person who survived and his evil plan is to lure Charlies daughter and trying to turn her into a vampire. I think that would be cool to see! If they did do the third one they could have some big name stars in it so that it would go out to the movie theaters.
