So are all the traditional martial arts. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the new Karate.

Really?
Because in the USA alone 18 million people do Karate, compared to only 100,000 doing Brazilian Ju-Jitsu.
Not really sure how you figure Karate is dead and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu is the new Karate.
Is it because that's what you do?

If those pen pushers up at city hall don't like it,well, they swivel on this middle digit!

its changing trust me. karete is soo diluted now. its garbage. BJJ is the future.

Maybe it is, but to say Karate is dead now, is a little premature. People said the same when Jeet kune do arrived in the 60's, or mixed martial arts many years later. Yet Karate continues to thrive.

What does this have to do with Karate Kid Part 3?

reply

That's why a karate fighter just fought to a draw for the welterweight title but hey fair enough to you you enjoy putting your legs around other men

I wouldn't say karate is dead, and I think that is an extremely opinionated statement saying BJJ is the new karate. I would say karate is changing, and for the worse, and I would say people lose interest in in these days. Not so much BJJ but the MMA scene is changing the interest karate; it's not enough to watch two guys spar, have traditional fighting kind of like the karate kid films. Now they have to have a brawl to near-death that ends in grappling and bone-breaking. MMA is really popular, but it's also not my cup of tea.

Agreed.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the new Karate.

Oh crap, your post just jumped the shark!

All martial arts died (including the one you mentioned) as soon as the gun was invented.
