How did Riggs survive ?

Cannot find an answer anywhere he got shot like 4-5 times ?

reply

He was shot with a handgun from like 50 meters away. It's a miracle he even hit him at all, firing with one hand. Probably not much penetration. Unless it was a headshot or right in the heart, he'd probably live with quick medical attention, and the cops were on the way.

Besides, Riggs was much tougher than your average dude.

A bullet can flys much futher than that and still do damage what's it matter if it was with one hand the penetration comes from the gun it's not like a punch and he was shot multiple times and could have died then and there so why were they laughing like he was okay only thing that would make sense was if he was wearing that bulletproof vest from earlier I was expecting him to rip open his shirt to reveal it but nothing was this down to bad editing because I heard they changed the ending

contrary to popular belief hand guns have alot more force than people believe. as many times as he was shot it would be a miracle to survive

reply

Actually, handguns are alot LESS powerfull than most people believe. There are tonns of stories of people being shot multiple times, but were still standing. It's all about shot placement. Unless a critical organ was hit, surviving is by no means unrealistic. As long as you can stop the bleeding and get medical attention quickly, of course.

There's no reason why Riggs shouldn't survive.

There was a shooting in my hometown back in the 80's. A guy was shot from many city blocks away, and was killed. It wasn't from a high-powered assault rifle. It was from a handgun of some sort. The dude who shot Riggs was in a relatively close range, so he shoulda died right there. The far-fetchededness (is that a word???) of this movie, and others, is sometimes crazy!

Originally, Gibson wanted his character to die. He thought it would have been a good idea to end the movie that way. However, the director, producers and writers, had a better idea. I think they realized that this was a winning formula and they would continue with the characters. Too bad, I love the first two movies, do not like 3 or 4 at all. Maybe Riggs should have died at the end of 2.

Are you sure? I know Shane Black did and this was the last time he worked on a LW because he felt Richard Donner botched the end. I didn't know Mel did.
