best sequal ever?

Most of the time sequals can't match the magic of the originals. I think this movie matched and in my opinion surpassed the origial. I can think of a lot of horrible sequals..just saw Exorcist 2 on cable and can't remember a sequal much worse then that one (although I really enjoyed exorcist 3).
But what are some great sequals

LW2 , and the Bourne Supremecy recently. I can think of a few more, but lets see what others think.
Name some great sequals and if you want some of your least favorites. (lest avoid Star Wars and LOTR)

LW2 is a great sequel, but I'd say the best sequel is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (which I remember was also released the same summer as LW2, a season full of high-profile sequels).

I agree, this was even better than part 1.

If we are on the subject of good sequels, don't forget Godfather Part II.

Agreed. It blew 'Terminator' out of the water and did in a clever way. I loved it. Saw T2 Judgment Day on my birthday at Cinerama Dome. It blew my mind.

The greatest sequel ever is Evil Dead II. Ask anyone.

Here are a couple that haven't been mentioned:

Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
Die Hard: With a Vengeance
Kill Bill vol. 2 (not a sequel in the regular sense of thw word, but lived up to its promise)
Snatch (more or a remake than a sequel, but in any case it is Lock Stock 2, despite what Ritchie would say)
Spiderman 2
aaaaaand a load of James Bond movies if they count - From Russia With Love and Goldfinger probably being my favourites

Die Hard: With a Vengeance was actually a Lethal Weapon 4 story. I think the script would work a lot better with Riggs and Murtaugh.

I'll stand up for "Gremlins 2: The New Batch". I has fun with the idea being a sequel, honors its conventions while mocking them and is one of the funniest underrated movies I've ever seen. And it's not the same tone as the first one, yet still works on its own.

For one thing, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is by far the worst of the Indy movies. As action movies go, not counting Bond movies, LW2 is definitely the best. I love that damn movie. T2 is a good choice though, but it's not better then the original. LW2 is arguably better then LW1.

The best sequal ever, in my view, is "The Godfather part II". Yes, it is a sequal.

You are all wrong. The best sequel is Nightmare on Elm Streets 3 and 4. Im just playing, even though those are damn good movies.

I'd say T2 is the best action movie sequel. Die hard 3 is good too. Oh, and Temple of Doom kills Last Crusade. The Last Crusade was good back in '89 when I saw it in the theater and I was about 6 years old. It just doesn't hold a candle to Raiders or Temple for that matter.

Also whoever said Austin Powers 2 and Spiderman just doesn't know good movies.

*beep* Out for Justice is better than both of those movies put together...

Nah, just kidding, you guys know its BLUES BROTHERS 2000!!!

Okay, okay ... Lethal Weapon 2 WAS very good, but in my opinion the two best sequels are:

1-Godfather II
2-The Empire Strikes Back

Of that genre, yes, The Godfather 2 was magnificent. A tour de force of direction, story and acting. These are the exceptions, not the rule. Most sequel are flops....

LW2 is by far the best sequal ever. There are sequals that are better than the original such as T2: Judgement Day, The Devil's Reject's and Jeeper's Creeper's 2 but LW2 is the BEST MOVIE EVER MADE!!!!!!!!
