Did Murtaugh steal the South African's money?

At first, he wants to take it. Then he relents. Then Riggs tells him to "do something good with it."

Murtaugh has this look of hesitation and shame, but keeps it in his hand, and the next shot is a cutaway from them before the car bursts out of the large container.

So did Murtaugh take the drug money? Do you think its pretty selfish/highly illegal if he did?

I seriously doubt that he did, Roger is a good and honest man, he may have thought about it but ultimately I believe he didn't take it.

did you not pay attention? when murtaugh calls it drug money it slams it back on the pile, he doesn't take it.

They joke about it in the next film, with Roger unwittingly joking that he took some in front of the lady from internal affairs.

Well he took something, because in the beginning of lethal 3 hes handing out cash to his kids like it grows on tree. Riggs even says, "hey did we get a raise and no one tell me about it."

That was Lethal Weapon 4. And we found out that money came from Trish's side job/hobby of writing erotic novels.
