Arent there laws that say you cant just live in a trailer on the beach??

How is it that Riggsy is just allowed to dump his trailer on the beach and live there? Aren't there laws in LA to stop roaming gypos doing that?

Is that the only law violation on Riggs' part you could spot in this movie?

But you need someone to enforce the law.

Is there anyone alive crazy enough to serve an eviction notice on Mel Gibson?

I know this thread is OLD, but couldn't pass up the opportunity.
I'm sure "Sugar T*ts" would have no problem enforcing the law.

He lives next door to Jim Rockford.

I'm pretty sure, that if you own a peice of land, you can put any sort of dwelling you wish on it. He probably owns that property. It's probably not a public beach.

@joshyb86 Riggs owns a property on the beach? Cops get paid more than I thought.

Not sure about the property laws/ownership, but I remember all the talk about Riggs doing this in the film.
They said it was even more unrealistic because the trailer would eventually begin to sink into the sand.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

If Jim Rockford who was not even a lunatic cop got away with parking his mobile home in a paved beachfront car park who could stop Riggs?
