Most ridiculous plot ever

I am not sure whose idea it was to introduce the Apartheid plot into a Lethal Weapon film but watching it now is embarrassing. However terrible the South African regime may have been at the time, the notion that their diplomats would be running a gangster operation in the US and openly killing US law enforcement is so absurd it is idiotic. Knowing what we know about Gibson now, I have to question his motives.

The problem I have with a film of this kind is the obvious pander to a certain point of view. When I detect the personal voice of the filmmaker coming from the character's mouths it takes me right out of the story. It isn't as if everyone didn't already agree Apartheid was a bad thing.

The darker side of Gibson's character is what made the first film but once Pesci starts in with his bumbling criminal act this film descends into idiocy. Then of course the daughter doing the condom commercial and the rest. These weren't essential to the plot and were only in there to set up jokes. This film and every LW movie after it sucks hard.

Good post. The other thing that ruins things for me is that since LW came out Glover has revealed himself to be a commie loving moron of the worst kind. I always assumed he was of the left but he really is beyond that now. Interesting that these guys like Donner portray heroes on the screen that they would probably abhor in real life.

It´s a fockin movie.

Most of these kind of movies has some a bad guy, who is somewhat ridicilous choice as a bad guy.

Lethal weapon 1: Vietnam veterans (ex-special forces) turned into drug runners. Try make a buddycop action movie in 2013, where SEAL-team brings opium from Afghanistan.

Die Hard: RAF (Red Army Faction) guys goes to LA and take hostages because they want MONEY.

Last Boyscout: NFL team owner

List goes on
