What could happen in The Little Marmaid 3?

Obviously, a smokin' adult Melody dating a merman.

I have no doubt that she wanted to spend her childhood with her parents but will become a mermaid once she grows up. And the movie implied the beginning of a relationship between her and the blonde merboy (Disney Studios revealed his name is Alex) at the end of the movie. Melody was obviously crushing on him pretty hard, and he was at least interested in her. And the way they bumped into each other again at the very end hinted at something becoming of it. Perhaps the 3rd movie (technically 4th) could focus on their relationship and Melody getting ready to make her permanent transition to the sea. That'd be interesting to see. The villain could be Ursula and Morgana's mother that was mentioned throughout the 2nd movie. Have you ever seen the TV series, there was an evil sea sorceress that was sealed in a cave that looked like Morgana (even though she was hidden in the shadows), and she had black tentacles too. I remember wondering if this was actually Ursula and Morgana's mother. This wouldn't be the first TV series/movies connection that have appeared. Even Alex was implied to be the son of Urchin (Ariel's childhood friend).

Actually, I read a fanfic with a plot like what you're looking for. It was surprisingly good, though it had a few dark themes. Here's the link if anyone is interested: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10454062/1/The-Little-Mermaid-Beyond-The-Shore

The Little Mermaid II was another unnecessary Disney sequel. We did get The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel's Beginning back in 2008. I never saw it though.

I liked TLM2. It wasn't anywhere as near as good as the 1st movie, but it was a decent sequel, and I loved Melody.

Why dont they focus on Ariel's sisters and King Triton. Get away from Ariel her story is done. I didnt like part 2 because it was the same story except it was her daughter.

Where have you guys been? The Little Mermaid 3 was released back in 2008, 7 years before this posting. It was a prequel to the original movie, gave a quick look at what happened to Ariel's mother (very sad), how she met Flounder, how Sebastian became the court composer, etc. Also the nice part about the movie was that the other sisters had a much bigger role. Of course its not nearly as good as the original movie but still it was OK, not terrible.

The origins and beginnings of characters in Little Mermaid are as varied as a comic book multiverse

Examples Ariel met Flounder when he got lost from his school

The ages of the sisters varies and the order is now in a state of flux

Ursula killed Ariel's Mother (saw this in a stage adaptation that was NOT Broadway)

Ariel (like the Anderson counterpart) has a Grandmother

Aside from Ariel Arista was the irresponsible one in Ariel's Beginning she is a dumb Blonde

Ariel had two Human Stuff Stashes before the film

Flounder has a twin sister

And this is just a few

I'd beg to differ regarding whether it was "OK." Even Return to the Sea was far better than this crap.

Also, we already knew how Ariel met Flounder, and we already got an inkling regarding how Sebastian got the role of court composer. The answer lies with the TV series.

And it also completely contradicted even events from the original movie. Like Ariel's sisters birth order (even without the TV series, the original film implied in the Daughters of King Triton musical number that the names they rattled off were their birthorder, and it certainly wasn't the order given in Ariel's Beginning), Ariel's exact role in the band (Ariel was supposed to make her debut in the concert she missed. Based on her actions in the film, they would have made her band LEADER, not have her wait at least a year to join the band), Triton's hatred of humans literally being a non-issue in the film, despite it giving an actual valid reason for hating humans (Athena's death), to such an extent that, based on Marina surfacing and getting away with it just minutes after her promotion, there isn't even a surface ban, and Ariel doesn't even start gaining an interest in humanity at all. Oh, and there was absolutely NO hint at there being a prior music ban in the original film. And quite frankly, especially knowing how merperson physiology works (being durable enough to actually survive a hundred foot fall with no slowing down in speed if the final battle with Ursula is to be believed, plus said durability being retained based on Ariel remaining intact in spite of oceanic pressures and only worrying about needing to get air quickly based on her first becoming human), I thought how Athena's death, while sad, was VERY poorly handled, not to mention she died out of stupidity.

Probably the only thing I'll concede is that Ariel's sisters get more screentime, though even the TV series and Marvel Comics gave them ample amount of screentime.
